Wasted Lives And Wasted Eternities

Our physical lives usually won*t last more than a hundred years while spiritual life lasts forever. When people die we are sad. We should be saddened far more about spiritual death than physical death. Spiritual death is a far greater tragedy and unbelievers experience the reality of it all of their physical lives.

John 3:36: He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Unbelievers never possess the eternal life that God wants to give them or the blessings that come with it either on earth or in Heaven. They waste both their physical lives and Heaven itself. Wasting a life is a horrible thing but there are no words to describe the tragedy it is to miss Heaven.

Mark 8:36: For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Matthew 16:25: For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

A life not lived for Christ is wasted. And the more abundant eternal life that God wants to give unbelievers is wasted. Unbelievers are dead spiritually while they are alive physically.

1 Timothy 5:6: But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.

Unbelieving men are also spiritually dead while they are physically alive. When God saves a soul, He also saves the rest of a physical life from being wasted. He saves souls from the ravages of the sins they would have continued to commit. Instead, He helps the saved ones to do good things which will be rewarded eternally.

Ephesians 2:10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Salvation means getting to Heaven and it also means doing right things here on earth.

Titus 2:11-12: For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Some of the right things we do on earth will be rewarded here. ALL of the right things will be rewarded in Heaven.

Revelation 14:13: And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

The negative side of that truth would go like this: Cursed are the dead which die out of the Lord from henceforth: . . . they will find no rest from their labours, and their works do follow them forever in the Lake of Fire.

I totally wasted about 43 years of my physical life. I am so glad that the Lord saved much of the remainder of my physical life. He is using it prepare me for Heaven. He is also using it to accumulate rewards for me in the bank of Heaven that will last forever.
